Donald Bardes

When I was in law school my mother inquired about what I was doing. I quipped that I was learning how to argue. Not to be outdone, she quickly responded, “I guess you are at the top of the class.”

Attorneys are also called advocates and counselors. Some of the tools of an effective advocate and counselor include logic, reasoning, analysis, and the art of persuasion. As an advocate a personal injury attorney’s duty is to argue, persuade, and convince juries, judges, and insurance claims adjusters of our client’s case or position. I, and the other lawyers at James Scott Farrin, will work hard on your behalf to achieve a result for you. I only represent people: regular, hard-working folks who have been injured by another person’s carelessness. I never represent big corporations or insurance companies.

As a counselor it is my duty to give you the information you need as my client, so that you can make an informed decision for you and your family. Ultimately, you – the client – are the boss of your case.

I grew up in Queens and Nassau Counties, New York. My maternal grandparents were immigrants from Italy. My parents were blue collar workers. I was raised with a strong work ethic. When I turned twelve I got my first “real” job delivering the New York Daily News by bicycle every day before school.

After graduating college, I moved to Arizona and worked as a paralegal at a personal injury law firm. My wife and I moved to North Carolina in 1998. I attended Campbell University law school and moved back to Arizona to practice law. My wife and I quickly realized that North Carolina was the best place to raise a family and returned. My wife and I have two children and currently live in Wake Forest. I enjoy baseball (Go Yankees!), camping, hiking, hunting, and fishing.

I have been in this field for over twelve years and have spent most of the time representing regular folks who were injured in car accidents, products liability cases, slip and fall cases, workers’ compensation claims, and state tort claims against government. I have also done some criminal defense and general practice. In addition, I have assisted groups such as the Alliance Defense Fund to help churches and individuals with religious liberty matters and other causes of social justice.

Here at James Scott Farrin, I continue my work advocating for you.
