Tara J. Williams

The breadth and depth of a person’s experience can enhance one’s ability to counsel and advise injured people. Ms. Williams has been fortunate to have had the opportunity to live in a number of different places and been exposed to other cultures. She has lived in many areas in the United States, including Michigan, Texas, Florida, Missouri, New York, and Alabama, as well as in other countries, including Uganda and Germany. Ms. Williams attended Stephens College, a women’s college in Columbia, Missouri, where she concentrated her studies in Religion and Philosophy. Ms. Williams later transferred to Auburn University in Alabama, and completed a degree in chemistry.

Ms. Williams began her law career in 1990 in the field of patents, trademarks and copyrights. She drew on her science background in chemistry, as well as her background in the liberal arts, to advise and counsel clients about protecting their inventions and creative works. Later Ms. Williams sought a position in the legal field that allowed her to counsel and help clients on a more personal level, having a desire to assist people with legal issues that directly affected their personal lives. Ms. Williams ultimately found such an opportunity with the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin.

Ms. Williams has been a personal injury lawyer with the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin since August 2002. Her varied and broad background allows her to draw on a number of experiences, enabling her to counsel clients on a wide range of issues in personal injury, to identify with people from various backgrounds and experiences, and to listen to and advise people in a caring and discerning way. On a daily basis, Ms. Williams has the unique opportunity to interact with the lives of many clients, and offer counsel. She enjoys and appreciates that opportunity.

While not a native North Carolinian, Ms. Williams has come to love the State and call it home. The varied landscape, gorgeous back roads and great year-round weather make the area perfect for riding her motorcycle and hiking. She is still learning to tackle the twisties in the mountains. She also enjoy listening to live music.
