John Byrum

Eastern North Carolina Market Executive

Mr. Byrum focuses on the eastern region of our state, maintaining relationships with medical providers, community leaders, and other professional contacts. He is also responsible for coordinating marketing efforts in Eastern North Carolina and ensuring our client’s satisfaction. Mr. Byrum manages a staff of direct marketing representatives who cover all of the communities we serve. Mr. Byrum earned both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from East Carolina University and is a proud supporter of ECU Athletics. Mr. Byrum is happily married and the proud father of a golden retriever named Cooper. He enjoys fishing, golf and beach music in his leisure time.

Robin Merritt

Director of Business Relations

A native of Wilson, North Carolina, Ms. Merritt attended both Peace College and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Ms. Merritt has been with the firm since 2001 and as a diverse professional background in marketing and business development. She serves as our firm’s liaison to our professional business associates, especially chiropractors, orthopedists, physicians, therapists, and other medical providers. Ms. Merritt manages a staff of representatives who serve our community through events important to our clients, friends in the Latino community, and business partners, and also assists in firm operations, especially maintaining our satellite offices.

Scott Aharon

Marketing Representative

A graduate of East Carolina University, Mr. Aharon works as a Marketing Representative serving the Northern counties around our Durham headquarters.

Maricela Gondek

Marketing Representative (Bilingual)

Ms. Gondek joined James Scott Farrin in 2003 as a Case Manager and now works primarily receiving clients and visitors daily at our Durham headquarters. Fluent in Spanish, Ms. Gondek has a B.S. in Animal Science from North Carolina State University. Ms. Gondek, a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a native of Mexico City, lives in Durham with her husband Ken.

Debbie Hemingway

Marketing Representative

Ms. Hemingway joined our firm in July of 2006 as a Marketing Representative working out of our Fayetteville, North Carolina office. Originally from Tennessee, Ms. Hemingway has lived in Fayetteville for over 40 years. She brings to the Firm 20 years of customer service experience and five years of experience working in direct marketing. Ms. Hemingway and her husband enjoy spending time with their three grandchildren, going to the beach and gardening.

Lisa Hicks

Interactive Marketing

A native of North Carolina, Lisa is a graduate of Meredith College with a B.M. in Music and has a M.S. in Communication from North Carolina State University.
In her personal time, Lisa enjoys playing the piano, supporting the Wolfpack Athletics, and spending time with her husband and friends.

Libby Jenkins

Marketing Assistant

Originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Ms. Jenkins moved to North Carolina in July 2006. She worked for twenty years for a major newspaper as a writer and in the marketing department. At James Scott Farrin, Ms. Jenkins works in client relations, direct marketing, and broadcast media. In her spare time, Ms. Jenkins enjoys genealogy and jewelry crafts.

Emily Kiser

Web Content Producer

A North Carolina native, Ms. Kiser is a senior at North Carolina State University studying English. She serves as a Web content producer who researches and writes legal news for the firm’s Web site. Ms. Kiser’s father is a systems analyst, her mother is a high school guidance counselor and her sister is a software tester. Ms. Kiser writes for the University’s daily student newspaper, the Technician, and intends to pursue a career in journalism.

Tanner Kroeger

Web Content Producer

Mr. Kroeger graduated from N.C. State in May 2007 with a degree in English. At State, he served as the sports editor of the school’s daily student newspaper, the Technician. In the summer of 2006, Mr. Kroeger spent a summer studying at Oxford University in Oxford, England, and in the fall of 2007, he will begin work toward a Master’s degree in history at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Aside from his affection for Wolfpack sports, he enjoys the outdoors, traveling, playing the piano and is an uncompromising fan of the Carolina Panthers.

Christopher Pendergraft

Interactive Marketing

Christopher joined our team in the summer of 2007 as a Marketing Assistant. Christopher worked as a computer repair technician and web designer for 4 years at Carolina Computer Group in Smithfield, NC. He graduated from Johnston Community College in May 2007 with an Associates of Arts in Business Administration. He is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from East Carolina University. He is an avid martial artist and enjoys seeing all the latest films.

Andrea Sterling

Marketing Representative (Bilingual)

Ms. Sterling has been with the firm since early 2002. A native of Colombia and a talented actress, she can also be seen in our commercials on Univision television. Ms. Sterling serves as our primary liaison to the Spanish-speaking community and is fluent in Spanish. She meets with clients all over the state and serves on community boards and with Hispanic centers in our community to assist Spanish-speakers to find assistance with their legal concerns. She also assists in translating for our Spanish-speaking clients when they meet with lawyers concerning their car accident and workers’ compensation cases.
