Brake Failure Causes I-80 Tractor-Trailer Crash

Posted by: Attorney Michael Jordan

A tractor-trailer’s brakes failed on I-80, causing a five-truck accident that injured three of the drivers and killed some of the market pigs being hauled in one of the trucks.

The accident started when the brakes malfunctioned on the tractor-trailer hauling the pigs, initiating a chain-reaction collision that resulted in one truck overturning and another being forced off the road and into the woods.

The driver of the pig truck was uninjured, while the others were taken to Pocono Medical Center, one suffering from head and wrist injuries and another from a broken arm.

Raleigh Teen Dies After Collision

Posted by: Attorney Michael Jordan

A 16-year-old from Harmont Drive in Raleigh, N.C. died on Monday, January 26, from injuries he received in a fatal car accident on the previous Thursday.

According to the police report, the teenager was rounding a curve on Tryon Rd. near Withers Rd. when his car’s back tires lost traction on sand and salt outside the travel lane.  Police say the teen driver overcompensated and crossed the center line into the path of an oncoming two-axle truck, which collided with the car’s passenger side.

The driver of the truck escaped injury in the collision, while a passenger in the truck was treated for minor injuries.

Man Dies After Wreck on Icy Road

Posted by: Attorney Michael Jordan

A man from Tarboro, N.C. died on Wednesday, January 21 from injuries received in a fatal car accident that occurred when his Oldsmobile Intrigue skidded on a patch of ice in the road and collided head-on with a tractor-trailer.

Investigators attribute this weather-related fatality in part to excessive speed by the driver of the Intrigue.  According to State Troopers, he was driving too fast for conditions, despite the fact that the National Weather Service had issued a warning earlier that day to beware of “black ice” on bridges and roads.

If you have suffered injuries and property damages as a result of a tractor trailer accident, semi truck accident, transfer truck accident, or any other type of commercial truck accident, you may be entitled to compensation for your damages. A skilled truck accident lawyer at the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin may be able to help sort through these complicated commercial truck accident claims and guide you through the process.
