DURHAM, North Carolina (October 8, 2009) - The Law Offices of James Scott Farrin announced today that it will be a Silver Sponsor in the annual Light the Night fundraiser to benefit the Eastern North Carolina Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) on Oct. 22  in Durham , North Carolina.

Frankie H. of Henderson N.C., had worked for thirteen years as an inspector at a textile mill that manufactured lace when she was seriously injured on the job. Stepping forward to wind yarn around a cone that fed a knitting machine, Frankie's shoe caught a loose floorboard at her plant and she stumbled backwards, permanently injuring both knees.

Her injuries were serious, requiring Frankie to undergo six separate surgeries, including two total knee replacement procedures. Among her injuries were a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in one knee, and a meniscal tear in the other.

When Jack M. felt an insurance company was pushing him to settle his workers’ compensation case before he was finished with treatment for a broken neck, he knew what he needed.

“I needed a lawyer,” he said.

Jack’s journey began when he suffered an injury on the job, leaving him with a skull fracture and a broken neck. One year and one surgery later, Jack said he realized he needed help. On the referral of a friend and after seeing a television ad, he called the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin.
