One person was injured, and one potentially injured, in a car accident involving two cars and a bus in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina on April 19 at 2:27 p.m. The accident occurred in Charlotte when a 2000 Mercedes was exiting a private parking lot onto Eastway Drive, and collided with a 1998 Ford which was traveling west on Eastway Drive. The impact caused the Ford to lose control, cross into the opposing lane of traffic and hit the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) bus head-on. The Ford driver was clearly injured, and a passenger in the Mercedes was potentially injured. Damage to the Mercedes was estimated at $3,500; damage to the Ford, $4,000 and damage to the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) bus, $4,500.
