A 30-year-old Charlotte woman who was driving the wrong way  on East W.T. Harris Boulevard in Charlotte caused a fatal head-on accident on Sept. 23 just after 5 a.m.
The woman was driving her Toyota Corolla 4S in the wrong direction when she struck a car driven by 42-year-old Charlotte man.

The man died at the scene. The  woman was transported to Carolinas Medical Center.

A tractor trailer accident on U.S. 40 in Colorado spilled 6,000 gallons of fuel onto the roadway.

The accident occurred just west of the Henderson Mike turn-off, about eight miles west of the Town of Empire on Sept. 21 around 12:30 p.m. Colorado state police say the truck’s driver was traveling too fast through a series of switchbacks, which caused him to lose control and forced the tanker to roll on its passenger side.

A prison guard and three inmates from the Caswell Correctional Center in Yanceyville were injured while on clean up duty in Person County.
