A teenaged pedestrian was injured after being struck by an SUV in Forsyth County, North Carolina on April 23 at 3:54 p.m. The SUV was then rear-ended by a car. The accident occurred in Winston-Salem when a 1996 Honda was traveling west on Peters Creek Parkway toward Ethel Drive behind a 1999 Dodge SUV. At that point, a 14 year old girl darted into the highway. The Dodge SUV driver was unable to stop in time to avoid hitting the pedestrian, and the Honda was unable to stop in tim to avoid rear-ending the Honda. The pedestrian was clearly injured. She was transported by Forsyth County EMS to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. The Dodge driver was examined onsite by Lifestar. The Honda driver was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
