A man from Tarboro, N.C. died on Wednesday, January 21 from injuries received in a fatal car accident that occurred when his Oldsmobile Intrigue skidded on a patch of ice in the road and collided head-on with a tractor-trailer.
Investigators attribute this weather-related fatality in part to excessive speed by the driver of the Intrigue. According to State Troopers, he was driving too fast for conditions, despite the fact that the National Weather Service had issued a warning earlier that day to beware of “black ice” on bridges and roads.
