Ironically, Salima H. was going to pick her cousin up from the hospital when the car she was riding in was rear-ended at a red light.

Concerned about her mother – the driver – Salima didn’t seek medical attention for her painful shoulder until the next day, when she woke up and found she was unable to move her arm.
