A South Dakota couple is suing North Carolina and Virginia trucking company for a truck-motorcycle accident that occurred on July 31.
The cyclist contends that he was riding a motorcycle on Interstate 229 in Sioux Falls when he was hit by a truck whose driver was distracted by using a messaging device used to communicate with the company. The lawsuit says the truck driver was cited for careless driving and the motorcyclist suffered injuries that required surgery and a long hospital stay. The company has not yet filed a response.
