Tony Eury Sr., director of competition for JR Motorsports, sustained minor injuries in a two-car accident on N.C. 152 near China Grove on Sept. 13. He was released  from Carolinas Medical Center-Northeast the following day.

The accident occurred shortly before 7 p.m. when  an Oldsmobile failed to stop at a stop sign and pulled into the path of Eury’s 2008 Chevrolet truck. After the impact, the Chevrolet truck crashed into a fire hydrant. The trailer and personal watercraft it was transporting broke loose and went into a nearby yard. The burning Oldsmobile came to rest in the same yard. As of Sept. 15, the Oldsmobile’s driver remained in Concord Hospital. There is no word on her 13-year-old granddaughter, who was a passenger.

Eury is an uncle of Dale Earnhardt Jr. JR Motorsports  fields the No. 88 Brad Keselowski team in the Nationwide series.
