A 16-year-old from Harmont Drive in Raleigh, N.C. died on Monday, January 26, from injuries he received in a fatal car accident on the previous Thursday.
According to the police report, the teenager was rounding a curve on Tryon Rd. near Withers Rd. when his car’s back tires lost traction on sand and salt outside the travel lane. Police say the teen driver overcompensated and crossed the center line into the path of an oncoming two-axle truck, which collided with the car’s passenger side.
The driver of the truck escaped injury in the collision, while a passenger in the truck was treated for minor injuries.
