A mother from Wayne County retained the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin after her 1½-year-old daughter accidentally drank some rim/tire cleaner while visiting a car dealership with her nanny. The toxic cleanser was left on a coffee table near the dealership’s play area. The infant was taken by ambulance to Johnson Memorial Hospital and then via LifeFlight to the UNC Hospital, where she almost died. The young girl was in the hospital for two months, where she had a feeding tube inserted directly into her stomach because she was unable to be fed orally. A brain MRI showed that the child had experienced brain changes and impairments due to the poisoning. There were also indications of a consistently low hemoglobin count.
