A tractor-trailer overturned in the Town of Dover, NC when its 27-year-old driver fell asleep at the wheel.

The state Department of Transportation says all four northbound lanes of I-95 were closed at mile marker 83 near Smithfield on Sept. 26 after an automobile accident at around 11:30 a.m. Several people were injured and taken to a hospital in Raleigh.

Four people were injured when an SUV crashed into a guardrail on the inner loop of I-485 between South Tryon Street and Arrowood Road in Charlotte on Sept. 25 at 7 a.m. After striking the guardrail, the vehicle overturned several times. Three of the four occupants were trapped inside and it took firefighters nearly 20 minutes to extricate them. All four were taken to Carolinas Medical Center for treatment.
