Young girl injured in Guilford County, NC car accident

Two people were injured, including a 4 year old girl, were injured in a one car accident in Guilford County, North Carolina on April 18 at 7:11 a.m. The accident occurred in Greensboro when a 2001 Mitsubishi was traveling north on North Church Street toward Cone Boulevard, merged into the right lane, lost control, traveled over the sidewalk and collided head-on with a tree. The impact caused the car’s headlight assembly to fly off and travel several feet before striking the right rear bumper of a 1999 Ford what was parked in an apartment complex’s parking lot. Both the driver and her young passenger were transported by Guilford County EMS to Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro. Damage to the Mitsubishi was estimated at $10,000; damage to the Ford, $200.

Wet road blamed for car accident that injures Apex, NC man in Raleigh, NC

A 24 year old Apex man was injured in a one car accident in Wake County, North Carolina on April 18 at 7:04 a.m. The accident occurred in Raleigh when a 2004 Hyundai was merging from the off ramp of I-540 eastbound onto Capital Boulevard. The road surface was wet and the Hyundai began to fish tail, ran off the road to the right and collided with a light pole. The Hyundai then rolled over, landed on its wheels and came to a complete stop a few feet away from the embankment. The Hyundai driver was clearly injured but did not receive medical care on site. Damage to the Hyundai was estimated at $15,000.

Running red light blamed for accident which injures 2 in Raleigh, NC

Two people were injured in a two car accident in Wake County, North Carolina on April 18 at 1:48 a.m. The accident occurred in Raleigh when a 2000 Mitsubishi was traveling south on Capital Boulevard, ran a red light into the intersection of Capital and Highwoods boulevards and struck a 1996 Ford SUV which was attempting to turn left onto Capital Boulevard. The Mitsubishi driver and one of his two passengers were clearly injured. They were transported by Wake County EMS to WakeMed in Raleigh. Others were examined onsite by Wake County EMS. The Mitsubishi driver was cited for running a red light and having an expired registration tag.  Damage to each vehicle was estimated at $4,000.
