Passenger Killed in Suspected Drunk Driving Accident

The 37-year-old driver of a vehicle in which a 26-year-old North Carolina woman was killed was charged with driving while impaired.

The couple was riding in a 1995 Cadillac when he lost control of the car, which ran off the left shoulder and overturned in a creek. The driver was able to get out of the car, but the passenger was trapped and had to be removed by emergency personnel. She died later that afternoon at Gaston Memorial Hospital

The driver was also taken to Gaston Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released. NC Boating Accident Claims Virginia Woman

A 46-year-old woman from South Mills, Va., died on Sept. 20 in a boating accident on the Pasquotank River near Little Flatty Creek in North Carolina. The accident occurred around 5 p.m. The woman was pronounced dead at Albemarle Hospital later in the day.

Emergency personnel were notified of the accident when they received a call that an unmanned boat at the site was driving in circles and that two people were in the water. When the Coast Guard arrived, they found the woman’s husband walking in shallow water in the creek carrying his wife, who appeared to be unconscious. Paramedics took the couple to the hospital. No alcohol or drugs were involved.

Man injured in hit and run in Huntersville

The victim of a hit and run accident on Interstate 77 on Sept. 20 in Huntersville, NC on Sept. 20 had stopped to see if his car had hit something when he was struck by a green sedan. The victim was taken to a local North Carolina Hospital. His wife, who as a passenger in the car, was uninjured.

The driver of the green sedan fled the scene.
