One injured in Greenville, North Carolina SUV, car accident

A woman from Washington, North Carolina was injured in an SUV, car accident on April 16 at 12:03 p.m. The accident occurred in Greenville when a 1990 Nissan was driving north on Memorial Drive and was struck by a 2002 Chevrolet SUV which was turning onto Memorial Drive from a commercial parking lot. A passenger in the Nissan was clearly injured, while both drivers were potentially injured. The other four people involved in the accident were uninjured. Both of the Nissan’s passengers were transported by Greenville Fire and Rescue to Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville. Damage to the Nissan was estimated at $4,000; damage to the Chevrolet, $3,000.

Pedestrian struck by car at Lee Street in Greensboro, NC

A man from Greensboro was struck by a car in Guilford County, North Carolina on April 19 at 6:21 a.m. The car accident occurred in Greensboro when a 2005 Nissan was merging onto E. Lee Street from the on ramp of US 29 South and struck the pedestrian. The driver said he was looking for oncoming vehicular traffic and did not see the pedestrian crossing the street until it was too late to stop. The pedestrian, who was clearly injured, was transported by Guilford County EMS to Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro. The Nissan driver was cited for failure to yield for a pedestrian. Damage to the Nissan was estimated at $100.

Stop sign violation blamed for accident that injures at least one in Greensboro, NC

A Greensboro man was injured, and another potentially injured, in a pickup truck, car accident in Guilford County, North Carolina on April 19 at 7:45 p.m. The accident occurred in Greensboro when a 1995 BMW was traveling south on Columbus Street at a high rate of speed, ran the stop sign at the intersection of Columbus and Mobile streets and collided with a 1994 Chevrolet pickup truck which was traveling west on Mobile Street. The impact caused the BMW to skid to the left, leave the roadway to the right, slide through the grass and crash into a tree. The BMW driver was clearly injured. He was transported by Guilford County EMS to Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro. The Chevrolet pickup truck driver was treated onsite by Guilford County EMS. The BMW driver was cited for a stop sign violation. The Chevrolet driver was cited for not having an operators license. Damage to the BMW was estimated at $8,000; damage to the Chevrolet, $6,000.
