Woman seriously injured when road block forces car accident in Sanford, North Carolina

A 63 year old woman from West End, North Carolina was severely injured in a two car accident in Lee County on March 27 at 6:40 a.m. The accident occurred near Sanford when a 1985 Chevrolet was traveling south on US 1 toward Farrell Road and struck a 2000 Ford which was parked in the roadway due to being involved in a previous wreck. According to the police report, the road was blocked due to the previous wreck and the Chevrolet driver had no choice but to rear-end the Ford. The Chevrolet driver was severely injured in the crash and was transported by Central Carolina EMS to Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford, North Carolina. Damage to the Chevrolet was estimated at $1,000; damage to the Ford, $1,500.

Williamston man injured in three car accident in Windsor, North Carolina

A 33-year-old man from Williamston was injured in a three car accident in Bertie County, North Carolina on March 26 at 7:58 a.m. The car accident occurred near Windsor when a 2009 Chevrolet was traveling north on US 13 toward Hoggard Mill Road behind a 2004 Honda and a 2005 Ford. When the Ford and the Honda came to a stop for traffic, the Chrysler rear-ended the Honda, forcing the Honda into the back of the Ford. The Honda driver was clearly injured. He was transported by Bertie County EMS to Bertie Memorial Hospital in Windsor. The Chrysler driver was cited for failure to reduce speed and following too close. Damage to the Chrysler was estimated at $7,000; damage to the Honda, $8,000 and damage to the Ford, $1,000.

Two people, including teen, injured in Middleburg, NC car accident

Two people, including a 19 year old teenager, were injured in a two car accident in Vance County, North Carolina on March 25 at 10:12 p.m. The accident occurred near Middleburg when a 2004 Toyota was traveling north on Fleming Town Road toward the parking lot of John H. Kerr Lake. The Toyota crossed the centerline, ran off the roadway to the left, and collided with a group of trees. Two passengers (aged 19 and 22) were clearly injured, while the 19-year-old teenaged driver was uninjured. The two passengers were transported by Vance County EMS to Maria Parham Medical Center in Henderson. The teenaged driver was cited for exceeding a safe speed. Damage to the Toyota was estimated at $7,000.
