DURHAM, North Carolina (March 8, 2010) Attorneys Donald Bardes and Perry J. Pelaez of the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin recently served as co-chairs of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice’s “2010 Disbursement Seminar.” The full-day event took place on Jan. 22 at the North Carolina Advocates for Justice’s headquarters in Raleigh, with simulcasts statewide.

About 90 paralegals and personal injury attorneys from Greenville to Asheville attended the Jan. 22 seminar, either live or via simulcast

DURHAM, North Carolina (March 3, 2010) For the 5th consecutive year, the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin has supported the annual Mix 101.5 WRAL-FM Radiothon to benefit Duke Children’s Hospital and Health Center in Durham, North Carolina.

This year the firm served as a “Circle of Compassion” sponsor and several of its staff members volunteered their time manning the phone bank.

DURHAM, North Carolina (Feb.  25, 2010) Matthew Harbin, an attorney in the Workers’ Compensation Department at the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin, has recently been appointed by North Carolina Governor Bev Perdue to a two-and-a-half year term on the North Carolina Commission for Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Services.

The Commission has the authority to adopt, amend and repeal rules to be used in the implementation of state and local mental health, developmental disability and substance abuse service programs across the state, among other duties. Matthew Harbin was selected to fill a slot designated for an attorney with administrative law experience.
