Ralph M. had endured serious injuries throughout his adult life. From accidents that caused his ankles to freeze up without warning, to third-degree burns, internal injuries and trouble regulating temperatures resulting from two different vehicle accidents – one involving a car and one a motorcycle.

Most recently, he was walking down the stairs at his Greenville, NC job when his ankle locked up, causing him to tumble down the stairs backwards.
