Mr. Talton joined the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin in 2006 and is currently an attorney in the firm’s Workers’ Compensation Department. He obtained his J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law, graduating as a Marshall Brennan Fellow. He received his B.S. in History from North Carolina State University.

Before joining the firm, Mr. Talton served as a public defender in the Miami Public Defender’s Office.

“By hiring an attorney, victims of injury get assistance in getting continued benefits through the workers’ compensation system which are often easily and inadvertently lost; we try to help clients make sense of the system and the documents,” Mr. Talton says. “The future of an injured person’s career can be uncertain, and we try to provide guidance to help each client make a well-informed decision.”

In addition to practicing with the firm, Mr. Talton is active in activities related to the Hispanic community, including serving as vice-chair of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice Hispanic/Latino Affairs Division, on the board of the North Carolina Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
