Tractor-trailer accident in Henderson, NC shuts down I-85 southbound lanes
On March 18, 2008, a tractor-trailer driver ran off the road and barreled into a construction zone on the southbound side of Interstate 85 in Henderson, North Carolina.
The accident occurred around 7:30 a.m. near mile marker 214. Another tractor-trailer accident occurred due to the confusion when one truck slammed on its brakes, getting rear ended by yet another tractor-trailer. All drivers received non-life threatening injuries in the tractor-trailer accident. Traffic was halted for over two hours and re-routed to U.S. 1 as crews worked to clean up the mess. It is unclear if any charges will be filed at this time.
