On April 12, 2008, a female student at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill was struck by a car while walking across a street on campus.

The incident occurred around 9 p.m. Saturday as she crossed Stadium Drive along the crosswalk at South Street (N.C. Highway 54). The student was transferred to UNC Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver was charged with failure to yield and police are still investigating.
