Driver of delivery truck in truck accident faces multiple charges

38-year-old man charged with property damage, personal injury

On May 8, 2008, a 38-year-old man was driving a delivery truck carrying medical supplies in Boston, Massachusetts when he lost control of the truck, hitting a pickup truck and four other cars and dragging a Lexus down the street before bursting into flames.

The pickup truck involved in the truck accident was pushed into a fence bordering subway tracks, and one of the Lexus’ the truck hit was pushed into a storefront window. The driver of the delivery truck and two others in the truck accident suffered from minor injuries. A woman at the scene of the truck accident said the driver thought he blacked out at the wheel.

Police will charge the delivery truck driver involved in the commercial truck accident with leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in property damage, leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in personal injury and driving to endanger. His license has also been suspended.

In 1997, the man’s license was suspended after seven violations or accidents. It was suspended again in 2005, but was reinstated after he took a driver safety course.
