Man killed in Wilmington, NC car accident when another runs red light
53-year-old man from Jacksonville was passenger in one of trucks
On June 19, 2008, a 53-year-old man from Jacksonville, North Carolina was a passenger in a truck that was traveling in Wilmington. At 5:20 a.m., the Chevrolet pickup truck in which he was riding entered the intersection of 16th and Dawson streets, where it was hit by another truck.
Police determined that one of the trucks involved in the truck accident ran a red light, and hope to use footage from a red-light camera at the intersection to determine which truck is at fault.
The two drivers of the trucks in the fatal truck accident were transported to an area hospital, where one was in fair condition and the other was treated and released.
