North Carolina man charged after Virginia commercial truck accident
Tractor-trailer truck accident destroys truck
On July 17, 2008, a 77-year-old man from North Carolina was driving a commercial truck on Interstate 81 in Virginia when he rear-ended another tractor-trailer truck that blew a tire and was attempting to reach the shoulder. The truck caught fire after the tractor-trailer truck accident, destroying the vehicle and one of two trailers it was towing.
Both drivers were treated for non-life threatening injuries sustained in the commercial truck accident. The North Carolina man was charged with following too closely.
