One dead, at least seven injured in PA tractor-trailer truck accident
10 cars hit after commercial truck smashes into slow-moving traffic on highway
On July 21, 2008, a tractor-trailer truck driver from Baltimore, Maryland was driving on Interstate 83 in Lower Allen, Pennsylvania when his truck crashed into slow-moving traffic, causing a 10-car pileup.
One woman, a 54-year-old from Pennsylvania, was killed in the commercial truck accident, while at least seven were transported to area hospitals with injuries.
Authorities said there were activated message boards warning drivers they were approaching slowed traffic, but they did not determine if the tractor-trailer truck driver saw the warnings. No charges have yet been filed in the fatal tractor-trailer truck accident.
