Fred A. was working on a robotic-system that automatically loaded product onto a conveyer belt. When the system broke, employees had to load the product manually. After three months of 12 hour shifts, Fred began to experience pain and numbness throughout his left side.
He eventually was put on light duty – and when he could no longer work he started receiving Workers’ Compensation payments. But Fred believed no one was taking his medical concerns seriously.
“…The company sent me to a doctor of their choice, and he looked at me for about two to five minutes and told me, ‘I don’t know what’s wrong with you, but you can go back to work.’
“It got to the point where I couldn’t sleep. I’m dragging the left side of my body like Chester on ‘Gunsmoke.’ I was in constant pain,” he said.
That’s when he decided to call a lawyer. He called the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin because of an ad he saw on TV.
“After I called, they came the same day to my home so I knew I had made the right choice,” he said.
Fred’s lawyer helped him get a second medical opinion which resulted in emergency surgery the next morning. The second doctor told him that if he was not treated immediately, even a minor fall could leave him permanently paralyzed.
In the end, he was very happy with the work James Scott Farrin did on his behalf. So happy, in fact, that Fred hired them to handle his Social Security Disability claim.
