Avandia: Another Vioxx?
On May 21, 2007, a study by Dr. Steven Nissen of the Cleveland Clinic published in the New England Journal of Medicine found that the diabetes drug Avandia may raise a patient’s risk of heart attack by as much as 43 percent and the risk of death by heart attack or other cardiovascular event by 64 percent.
