Lead poisoning risk causes recall of Limited Too children’s metal jewelry
More than 100,000 pieces of children’s jewelry recalled because they contain high levels of lead
On May 31, 2007, Tween Brands, Inc. announced a recall of about 103,000 pieces of children’s metal jewelry because the pieces contain high levels of lead and could be toxic if ingested.
The recalled children’s jewelry was sold at Limited Too and Justice retail stores, the Limited Too catalog, and [http://www.limitedtoo.com] between September 2005 and May 2007 for $2-10.
Some of the recalled pieces of metal jewelry are necklaces, bracelets, earrings and charms that are multi-colored and have “High School Musical” or pictures of “High School Musical” actors printed on them. Other pieces of the recalled metal jewelry have frogs, hearts, starts, dogs with bones, flowers, or monkeys that hang from silver, black, or brown chains and cords.
Consumers should immediately remove recalled jewelry from children and return it to any Limited Too or Justice stores for a full refund.
