Nissan Murano Fuel Tank Puncture Hazard

2003-2006 Nissan Muranos recalled for fuel tank puncture hazard

03/24/06

Model year 2003 through 2006 Nissan Muranos have been recalled due to a design flaw in the fuel tank. The location of part of the fuel tank makes it susceptible to damage from small, sharp debris that may get kicked up while the vehicle is in motion. If the front wheel runs over a sharp object in the road, the fuel tank could puncture, posing a fire hazard.

Nissan dealers will install protectors in front of the fuel tank of affected vehicles. Over 205,000 small sport utility vehicles are expected to be part of this recall. For more information, contact your local Nissan dealer, or call Nissan toll-free at 1-800-647-7261.
