Attorney Jennifer A. Taylor (Partner)

Jennifer Taylor joined the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin in 2017 with more than 15 years of experience in the areas of personal injury law, Social Security Disability, domestic violence law, family law, and employment law.

Jennifer grew up in Concord, North Carolina in a close-knit family that emphasized the importance of achieving goals without sacrificing kindness, humility, and consideration of others. She took this lesson to heart and is regarded by her friends and professional peers as a compassionate individual who embraces challenges – and the lessons they teach.

It Isn’t the Challenge That Defines You, It’s What You Do With It

While Jennifer has encountered several hardships in her life, she has remained an empathetic and positive force. As an undergraduate at the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill, she learned how unpredictable life could be when she lost her mother. The resilient student made a commitment to herself during this difficult time to cherish every day and make a positive impact on others’ lives as well.

After graduation from UNC, Jennifer moved to Fort Benning, GA with her husband, an active duty soldier in the Army. Determined to become an attorney, she enrolled in the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University in Macon and commuted three hours round trip each day to fulfill her goal. As if that was not enough of a challenge, Jennifer gave birth to her first son six weeks before graduating from law school and while preparing for the North Carolina State Bar (she passed on her first try)!

“Even before I started law school, I knew I wanted to be an advocate for the injured, disabled, and those who couldn’t always afford an attorney during difficult times.”

When her husband was re-assigned to North Carolina, the couple and their oldest son moved to Fayetteville. Jennifer advocated for domestic violence victims, low income, and disabled clients at Legal Aid of North Carolina for several years before moving to a firm to represent individuals fighting for Social Security Disability benefits.

Jennifer also devoted much time and energy to the North Carolina Advocates for Justice (NCAJ), serving as Chair, Vice Chair, and Secretary of the organization’s Disability Advocacy Section. In addition, she taught and planned Continuing Legal Education courses through NCAJ and the National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives.

Jennifer currently serves as the Intake Administrator and Co-Counsel Liaison for the firm. In her dual roles, she is laser-focused on trying to ensure that all clients receive quality representation whether she is offering guidance on incoming calls, building relationships with other firms, or serving as co-counsel on case referrals.

Grateful and Giving Back

Recently, Jennifer overcame yet another challenge when she survived an organ transplant. Never one to stand idle when there is important work to be done, she actively raises awareness of the importance of organ and tissue donation by sharing her recovery story of how an anonymous deceased donor and their family saved her life.

Family-oriented and thankful for every minute she gets to spend with her husband, two sons, and extended family, Jennifer relaxes in her off-time by reading, taking nature hikes, cooking, and spending time with loved ones in the mountains and at the beach.
