“‘Client’ is more than just a word to me. It means advocating for those who are unable to do so themselves. It is important to me that clients know I would represent them as zealously as I would represent myself. Obtaining adequate recovery for a wrongful injury should be a human right, not a privilege.”

Attorney Jessica Grissom Plummer
Jessica Grissom Plummer joined the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin in 2018. She enjoys interacting with clients and is passionate about advocating for their rights in personal injury and car accident cases.
As a child, Jessica and her family moved often with her father’s career. She had a supportive, close-knit family and always looked up to her parents as role models. From an early age, she wanted to be a lawyer and recalls informing her 3rd grade teacher that she was “going to be a judge one day.” After spending her middle school and high school years in Cincinnati, Ohio, she made her way to the Carolinas for her college and law school education.
Carolina-Bound
Jessica earned her B.S. in Print Journalism magna cum laude from North Carolina A&T State University. She was a Dean’s List scholar, a member of the Academic Honors program and Tri Beta Honors Society, and won the NC A&T Excellent Service Program Academic Award. Jessica also wrote for the university newspaper, The Register, was a member of the National Association of Black Journalists, and served as a Student Government Senator.
After graduation, she moved to Columbia, South Carolina and earned her J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where she also participated in the Black Law Student Association Mock Trial Team.
Prior to joining the firm, Jessica worked as a law clerk for two personal injury firms in Columbia, SC, further igniting her passion for advocacy. At James Scott Farrin, she takes great satisfaction and enjoyment in trying to improve her clients’ outcomes.
She proves her commitment to her clients daily in many different ways – from encouraging a client to be healthy so they could get approved for needed surgery to supporting clients through their treatment for a serious injury. These efforts demonstrate her compassion and patience, which have helped her achieve positive outcomes for many clients.1
Outside the Firm
An engaged representative for the legal profession, Jessica is a member of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, the North Carolina Bar Association, and the Mecklenburg County Bar Association. She also holds a certificate in Children’s Law and volunteers weekly with Lawyers for Literacy helping 3rd graders improve their reading skills.
Jessica lives in Charlotte where she loves to spend time outdoors exploring the city with her family. She and her husband have also run several Spartan endurance obstacle races – good preparation for life at home with two small children and a Corgi!
