At least 1 injured in Jeep, pickup truck accident near Swansboro, NC
One person was injured, and three potentially injured, in an Jeep, pickup truck accident in Onslow County, North Carolina on June 24 at 5:20 p.m. Two children were among those potentially injured. The accident occurred near Swansboro, NC when a 1993 Ford pickup truck which was traveling north on Papa Joe Lane attempted to make a left turn onto Swansboro Loop Road. At this point it collided with a 2005 Jeep which was traveling east on Swansboro Loop Road. The impact caused the Jeep to travel off the left side of the roadway and overturn in a ditch. The 32-year-old Jeep driver was clearly injured and his three passengers (aged 2, 12 and 33) showed signs of potential injury. The Jeep driver was transported by Onslow County EMS to Onslow Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, NC. The Ford driver was cited for a safe movement violation. Damage to the Ford pickup truck was estimated at $12,000; damage to the Jeep, $15,000.
