Driver arrested, charged in hit-and-run DWI car accident

Six injured, one remains in critical condition

On May 18, 2008, a drunk driver got into a car accident in Raleigh, North Carolina. Authorities say the suspect crossed the center line on Cross Link Road to pass a car that was attempting to make a left turn, when the drunk driver hit the car.

Two passengers in the back of the victim’s car were thrown from the vehicle in the car accident. Six people, including both drivers, were transported to area hospitals, where five were treated and released. One remains in critical condition from injuries sustained in the DWI car accident.

The drunk driver was charged with one count of felony hit and run after fleeing the scene of the car accident, three counts of felony serious injury by vehicle, one count of driving while intoxicated (DWI), two counts of having an open container and one count of filing a false police report.
