On July 7, 2008, a 46-year-old motorcyclist began fleeing police in Durham, North Carolina when they tried to pull him over for speeding. After a 5-minute chase, the man ran into the back of a car while traveling 110 miles-per-hour.
The driver of the car involved in the car accident was injured and transported to a hospital. The motorcyclist was also injured and is in serious condition at an area hospital.
The man faces several charges, including driving while intoxicated (DWI). In the past 10 years, he had been charged with DWI three times, and may now be charged as a habitual DWI offender.
