Greenville, NC is the state’s tenth-largest city with a population of almost 80,000. To many, Greenville, NC is synonymous with East Carolina University (ECU), a major research university and the third largest school in the University of North Carolina system. Through its Health Sciences Campus (located at Pitt County Memorial Hospital), ECU is a major provider of healthcare for all of eastern North Carolina. ECU also houses one of the state’s two public medical schools and will soon house the state’s second dental school. The Greenville office of the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin is about 10 minutes from the main ECU campus.

Washington, North Carolina – Founded in 1776, this city of about 10,200 residents located along the Pamlico Sound is the first city in United States to be named for George Washington, and is sometimes referred to as the “Original Washington.” Not surprisingly, much of its recreational opportunities center on the water. Nearby Goose Creek State Park, located where the Goose Creek and the Pamlico River converge, offers a swim beach, hiking and paddling trails, picnic sites and a camping area. The North Carolina Estuarium offers more than 200 exhibits focusing on the Pamlico/Tar River estuary, the second largest estuary in the nation after the Chesapeake Bay. The city even offers municipally owned/operated docks downtown for both short- and long-term use. Washington is located in Beaufort County about 22 miles from Greenville.
