Mr. Mackay is a workers’ compensation attorney and is a Board Certified Specialist in Workers’ Compensation Law. Mr. Mackay also serves as the head of the workers’ compensation team at James Scott Farrin. He worked for one of the largest insurance defense firms in the state before becoming a respected workers’ compensation lawyer on the injured workers’ side of the table.
Mr. Berger is a workers’ compensation lawyer who served as a Deputy Commissioner with the North Carolina Industrial Commission for 10 years. In that capacity he issued over 600 opinions and workers’ compensation awards. Mr. Berger also currently serves as a North Carolina Senator for the Seventh District.
Mr. Harbin is a workers’ compensation attorney who is a Board Certified Specialist in Workers’ Compensation Law and served as a Special Deputy Commissioner with the North Carolina Industrial Commission before joining James Scott Farrin.
Ms. Shapiro is a board-certified specialist in workers’ compensation law and one of the attorneys at our law firm that makes first contact with our clients regarding their workers’ compensation, personal injury and social security disability cases. A native North Carolinian, she has many years of experience in criminal, personal injury, and workers’ compensation law.
Mr. Fleming is a board-certified specialist in social security disability law. His areas of practice include social security disability, workers’ compensation, car accidents, and other personal injury and disability cases. Fluent in Spanish, he has assisted many Latino members of our North Carolina community.
Mr. Jennings joined the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin as a workers’ compensation lawyer in the winter of 2006. Prior to joining our firm he worked for an insurance defense firm and enjoys helping the working people of North Carolina.
Mrs. Blanton has been with the Firm since the spring of 2002. She had over nine years of experience with the North Carolina Industrial Commission before joining the worker’s compensation team. Presently she assists the lawyers of our workers’ compensation team in preparing cases for mediation, litigation, and settlement.
Ms. Chastain has been with the Firm since 2002. She has worked as a paralegal for seven years and now works in the Durham office as part of the workers’ compensation team assisting clients with workers’ compensation case mediation, litigation and settlements.
Ms. Coleman has been with the Firm since 2002. She has worked as a paralegal for fourteen years. Originally from Miami, Ms. Hatton moved to the Raleigh area in 2003 and joined the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin in the summer of 2006. Fluent in Spanish, Ms. Hatton has over 15 years of legal experience and most recently worked for insurance companies and with defense firms in the areas of litigation and workers’ compensation . She enjoys the beach, the mountains, art, reading and especially spending time with her husband and two very active toddlers, Giana and Chloe.
Ms. Middour has been with the Law Office of James Scott Farrin since 2001. She works with our lawyers, our clients and their insurance companies to negotiate workers’ compensation settlements. She is instrumental in securing successful case closures for our clients. She is a native of Chapel Hill and enjoys hiking and photography.
Roberta joined the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin in December 2006. Prior to joining the firm, Roberta worked at an insurance defense firm in Raleigh for nearly seven years. Before her law firm experience, she also worked for almost six years at the North Carolina Industrial Commission. Roberta enjoys the beach and spending time with her family and friends.
