Senator Doug Berger (D-NC), Seventh District, joined the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin in 2005, where he handles Workers' Compensation litigation and dispute resolution.

Sen. Berger received his J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law. He received both his B.A. in Political Science and Speech Communications, as well as a teaching certificate in Social Studies, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Sen. Berger served as a Deputy Commissioner at the North Carolina Industrial Commission (NCIC) for 10 years before accepting his position at the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin. Prior to that, he served as a Criminal Prosecutor for the 9th and 11th Judicial Districts of North Carolina. He is currently serving his third term representing the seventh district of North Carolina, which encompasses Franklin, Granville, Vance and Warren Counties.

"I am passionate about helping them in their commitment to representing injured people. As a former Deputy Commissioner of the North Carolina Industrial Commission, I am quite aware of what our clients are up against."

Sen. Berger is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, the North Carolina Bar Association, the State Employees Association of North Carolina and the North Carolina Advocates for Justice. He also served on the Board of Directors for Franklin County Social Services.
