Doug Berger joined the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin in 2005, where he handles Workers' Compensation litigation and dispute resolution. He is a North Carolina Board Certified Specialist in Workers’ Compensation Law.

Mr. Berger received his J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law. He received both his B.A. in Political Science and Speech Communications, as well as a teaching certificate in Social Studies, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Mr. Berger is a former North Carolina Senator, representing the Seventh District. He also served as a Deputy Commissioner at the North Carolina Industrial Commission (NCIC) for 10 years, before accepting his position at the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin. Prior to that, he served as a Criminal Prosecutor for the 9th and 11th Judicial Districts of North Carolina. He served four terms representing the seventh district of North Carolina, which encompasses Franklin, Granville, Vance and Warren Counties.

"I am passionate about helping them in their commitment to representing injured people. As a former Deputy Commissioner of the North Carolina Industrial Commission, I am quite aware of what our clients are up against."

In addition to being a Board Certified Specialist in Workers' Compensation, Mr. Berger is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, the North Carolina Bar Association, the State Employees Association of North Carolina and the North Carolina Advocates for Justice. He also served on the Board of Directors for Franklin County Social Services.
