$1.25 Billion: Leading One of the Largest Civil Rights Cases in United States History
It was known as the “last plantation,” a systematic oppression of black farmers. The government was denying them the loans they needed to keep their farms running while approving white farmers in the same situation.
As a result, many black farmers ended up losing some or all of their land. A lawsuit was filed, and succeeded, but the program failed to reach many of the farmers who had been wronged. Another, larger suit was filed and an uphill battle — up Capitol Hill — began.
This is the story of a farmer who refused to rest until he got justice for himself and thousands of others. It’s the story of an ambitious law firm, stretched to its limits and forced to solve problems no one ever considered.
Most of all, it’s a story of justice being served.

She enlisted our help. With preparation, persistence, teamwork, and dedication, we presented her case. After years of fighting, a Hoke County jury took only 55 minutes to deliver a $2.1 million dollar verdict in her favor.
