Attorney Alexandrea M. Everson

Alexandrea Everson is a personal injury attorney at the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin who approaches every case with compassion and determination. She describes her style as both “kind and fierce” believing advocacy requires empathy for clients and tenacity in pursuing the best possible outcomes.

A Calling Rooted in Experience

Alexandrea’s path to personal injury law was shaped by early exposure to the legal system and a deeply personal experience. As a freshman in high school, she volunteered in a Teen Court program in Colorado, serving as prosecutor, defense attorney, bailiff, and juror. That experience sparked her initial interest in the law and the role it can play in people’s lives.

Years later, just days before her high school graduation, Alexandrea’s father suffered severe third-degree chemical burns after a company delivered the wrong type of cement for a home project. Watching her family navigate the legal and medical systems during that time gave her a firsthand understanding of how overwhelming the legal process can be. It also solidified her desire to help others who have been injured through no fault of their own pursue justice and stability.

Alexandrea fulfilled a childhood dream and attended University of Hawai’i at Mānoa where she graduated with honors and a BA in Psychology. She earned her J.D. from Ave Maria School of Law, whose motto “Fides et Ratio” (Faith and Reason) reflects that law, morality, and the common good are closely connected. She was an active student leader and participant as a member of Moot Court and the Women’s Law organizations and a volunteer at the school’s Immigration Clinic and Tax Clinic.

Broad Legal and Leadership Experience

Before joining the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin, Alexandrea spent more than a decade as Managing Partner of her own practice, serving clients in both North Carolina and Colorado. Her work included complex personal injury matters such as catastrophic injuries involving brain trauma, burns, and spinal cord injuries.

Her professional background also includes experience in estate planning, corporate law, family law, and criminal defense, giving her a well-rounded legal perspective. In addition, she served as Chief Administrative Officer for a North Carolina nonprofit, where she led 10 departments focused on supporting children and families in need.

A Thoughtful and Tenacious Advocate

Known for her calm, methodical approach, Alexandrea believes that careful preparation and attention to nuance as well as facts can help try to shape stronger outcomes for her clients.

“I think my greatest strength is the ability to uncover the details that tend to be overlooked, and leveraging those details to try to gain an advantage for my clients as we pursue the best possible outcome.”

In her first case, Alexandrea represented a client injured in a collision with a commercial garbage truck. Despite facing a seasoned defense firm, she helped secure a recovery that supported her client’s long-term medical care and financial stability – an impactful experience that reflected her thorough preparation and persistent advocacy.1

The Path to James Scott Farrin

Alexandrea considers law to be “more of a vocation than a profession.” After a decade of running her own firm, she chose to focus fully on practicing law rather than managing a business. She joined the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin to dedicate her time to helping clients facing powerful entities navigate difficult legal situations, rebuild their lives, and move forward.

Life Outside the Office

Outside of her legal work, Alexandrea remains active in her community. She continues to support children who have been victims of trauma through the Carousel Child Advocacy Center in Wilmington and other state programs. Alexandrea enjoys mentoring students interested in law through her participation in both the North Carolina and Colorado Mock Trial Programs, participates in her church choir, and enjoys spending time outdoors – whether hiking with her dogs or visiting the beach and local gardens.
