Attorney Aaron Walck
Aaron Walck is a personal injury attorney at the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin who is passionate about helping people understand the legal system and their rights within it. Throughout his career, his bilingualism and empathy have helped him effectively connect with and advocate for diverse clients.
Aaron grew up in Orefield, Pennsylvania, in a relatively small, close-knit family. Born prematurely, he had many health problems as an infant and toddler, including multiple surgeries and bouts of pneumonia. He recognizes how fortunate he was to outgrow these complications, and this knowledge has always motivated him to help others who may be struggling with issues.
Aaron’s parents prioritized education for him and his older brother, and he worked diligently to get good grades. He was skilled in languages and studied Latin in middle school before transitioning to Spanish in high school. Aaron continued his academic journey at Tufts University, where he double majored in Spanish and International Relations and graduated cum laude.
Towards the end of his undergraduate studies, Aaron was drawn to journalism and had multiple internships at news outlets, including an English language news website in Santiago, Chile, a local newspaper outside of Boston, and a public news station in Arlington, MA. After college, he continued working in journalism before deciding that he could make more of an impact as an attorney.
Aaron earned his law degree at Wake Forest University, where he served as Executive Editor of the Wake Forest Journal of Law & Policy, Project Coordinator of the Migrant Detention Center Pro Bono Project, and as a member of the Pro Bono Honor Society. His internships throughout law school concentrated on helping noncitizens obtain visas, seek asylum, and prepare for interviews.
After law school, Aaron joined a law firm in Wilmington, NC where he continued to focus on immigration law, particularly on securing visas for victims of human trafficking. He managed a substantial caseload communicating with clients in both English and Spanish as he conducted consultations, prepared clients for interviews, and worked one-on-one with them to prepare every aspect of their visa applications.1
Since starting Spanish classes in high school, Aaron has embraced learning and living with the language. He majored in Spanish in college, studied abroad in Chile and Ecuador, and travelled to five other Spanish-speaking countries (Uruguay, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, and Columbia).
As both a journalist and an attorney, Aaron has relied on his bilingual abilities to connect and communicate with individuals in need. He understands that Spanish-speaking clients are often more comfortable speaking in their native language, and he has honed his bilingualism so that he can allow people this convenience.
Transferring His Talents to James Scott Farrin
Wanting to address the broader needs of clients, Aaron brought his legal skills and compassion to the firm where he is part of the team of attorneys who first interact with people contacting the firm for legal assistance.
Aaron strives to be straightforward and empathetic as he explains the benefits of legal representation – and he is honored to be able to help Spanish speakers overcome language barriers as they navigate legal issues.
Firm Partner Michael Jordan characterizes Aaron as “a conscientious and driven attorney with a passion for service.”
Aaron Outside of Work
Aaron works from the firm’s Wilmington office. When not working, he enjoys cooking and following sports, as well as hiking and kayaking along the river or among the region’s scenic parks and marshes. He’s an avid traveler and has backpacked across Latin America visiting national parks, and he hopes to continue his travels in the future.
