Attorney David A. Krogh

David Krogh joined the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin in 2022 as a personal injury attorney with a passion for helping clients understand and fight for their rights.

David grew up in Central Florida, the middle of three sons, in a supportive family environment where “everyone got along.” He exhibited attorney-like characteristics early on and was known to always be prepared with an opening argument or counter proposition in family discussions. He fostered these tendencies by majoring in Legal Studies with a minor in Criminal Justice at the University of Central Florida, graduating cum laude.

David also developed an early love of the big theme parks in the area that would later morph into a two-year job at Universal Orlando Resort, as well as a part-time seasonal gig.

A Transferable Skillset

During college, David began tutoring at the same high school at which his father taught – a position that developed into his own teaching assignment after graduation. He believes this experience shaped the way he communicates with clients, and he prides himself on the client feedback he’s received that points out how he made complex issues easy to understand. He also draws on the compassion and interpersonal skills he honed as a teacher when he works with clients in need.

“Nothing makes me happier than hearing that I was able to lessen someone’s uneasiness in a situation typically fraught with anxiety. I strive to do everything within my power to minimize that fear and help my clients understand all aspects of their cases whenever we interact.”

David eventually left teaching to focus on a career in law and worked as a legal assistant and estate planning paralegal for two years in Florida. As the primary point of contact for the firm’s estate planning and probate matters, time and project management skills were as essential to the position as people skills. In 2019, David continued adding to his skill set, earning a J.D. from Florida A&M University College of Law, where he was an academic scholarship recipient, a member of the Dean’s List, a recipient of two Book Awards, and a participant in the school’s mediation clinic. David’s skillset, coupled with his desire to help others, puts his clients at ease.

“David’s affable character and sincere interest in helping people faced with tragedy is a tremendous asset to our department, the firm, and the clients we serve.”  Cristen Bartus, Firm Partner

Determined to Succeed

David is proud to be the first attorney in his family, and he credits his parents for instilling in him a resolute work ethic, as he watched them work tirelessly to create opportunities for him and his brothers. Right before starting law school, David’s mother passed away. He persevered and learned to move forward, even through life’s harshest circumstances. And he knew he wanted to help others do the same.

“I chose this career path because the law touches nearly every single area of life and business. So many people are let down by ‘the system’ – I want to give them a voice and help try to make things right for them.”

At Home in North Carolina

David moved to North Carolina in 2019 to take the North Carolina Bar exam and worked with clients on estate planning issues prior to following his instinct to work with victims of personal injury cases. He remains a huge theme park fan and tries to work in trips when possible. Additional passions include gaming (tabletop and video), painting, and dogs – lots of them! Locally, you can possibly find David visiting a different kind of theme park (i.e. a dog park) or hiking with his four canine friends.

I love the staff at James Scott Farrin.
I love the staff at James Scott Farrin. They are organized, nice, [and] friendly, and they seem to be very family-oriented. I've just recently referred another client to them because I know they will take care of her. 1
