Dawn Parham serves as Departmental Operations Manager at the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin (JSF), a role she embraces with remarkable dedication and a depth of knowledge cultivated over more than two decades with the firm.

“I enjoy supporting every department across the firm and helping our teams help people in need.”

Dawn is a key contributor to the firm’s efficiency and effectiveness, focusing on improving operations across departments by identifying system gaps, researching solutions, and recommending process improvements to help the firm run smoother, smarter, and more effectively. Each day, she tackles new initiatives centered on optimizing the firm’s operational workflow and overall efficiency.

In addition to her core responsibilities, Dawn leads the firm’s Medical Acquisitions Team, which oversees the end-to-end process of obtaining and tracking client medical records, billing statements, and balance confirmations. Under her leadership, the team handles a high volume of requests with precision, efficiency, and a strong commitment to internal service excellence.

Dawn plays a behind-the-scenes role in helping our legal teams always try to operate at their best. By streamlining processes and providing essential support, she assists in creating the foundation that allows attorneys and staff to thrive. She finds fulfillment in knowing her contributions support their growth, and she values being part of a firm that fiercely advocates for its clients and does meaningful work in the community.

“No matter how good you are, there’s always something to learn.”

Dawn is a detail-oriented and analytical problem solver who possesses a constant desire to learn and improve. Her greatest strengths include her deep knowledge of the firm’s operations, history, processes, and workflows, which gives her a nuanced perspective that encompasses both the “big picture” and day-to-day tasks. Beyond this, she demonstrates strong customer service skills, drive, dedication, loyalty, and commitment.

The Journey to JSF

Dawn grew up in Roxboro, NC with parents who demonstrated and instilled in her the core values of hard work, integrity, and commitment. A self-proclaimed bookworm, her memories of childhood also include summers spent outside from sunrise to dusk playing with neighborhood kids. She was taught from a young age to “always do the right thing, even when no one’s watching,” a principle that continues to guide her today.

Dawn’s values were further reinforced by her time in the U.S. Army, an experience she describes as physically, mentally, and emotionally tough but ultimately transformative. As a proud Operation Desert Storm veteran, she credits time spent in service for sharpening her drive, attention to detail, sense of honor, respect for others, humility, and unwavering commitment – qualities that continue to influence her approach to both work and life.

Dawn’s journey to the firm began “almost by chance.” Ready for a new challenge after 6+ years as an office manager at a country club, she saw an advertisement for an administrative position at JSF. Though she was overqualified for the posted job, firm management recognized Dawn’s potential and drive and instead offered her a position as a case manager. The rest, as they say, is history.

“We advocate fiercely for our clients and do meaningful work in the community. I am humbled to know that I’ve played even a small part in that.”

Dawn’s Downtime

Outside of work, Dawn’s hobbies include movie nights, binge-watching Netflix on rainy days, occasional karaoke, and relaxing by the pool. She also loves to travel, particularly to the beach or the mountains, and enjoys reading and spending time with her family and friends.
