Lawsuits claim that Roblox and Discord failed to protect minors from sexual predators.

Their alleged lack of online safety measures may have led to sexual abuse.

Roblox and Discord Lawsuit Attorneys: Driven to Protect

There are multiple lawsuits against the gaming platform Roblox and free communication platform Discord that claim that these platforms failed to protect minors from sexual predators. Many lawsuits allege that these technology companies prioritized financial gain above the safety of children by not implementing sufficient protections and allowing sexual predators to exploit their platforms and groom minors for sexual exploitation.

How Children Were Targeted by Sexual Predators on Roblox and Discord

Several lawsuits allege that Roblox knew about and ignored warnings about grooming, sexual abuse, and the use of Discord for off-platform exploitation. This alleged negligence may have allowed sexual predators to pose as children on Roblox, as well as on the external chat app Discord, and interact with minors to groom them for sexual exploitation.

Several cases claim that children were coerced into sending sexually explicit photos or videos. Others allege that minors were sexually assaulted or abused after meeting in person with someone they had interacted with on the platforms.

For example, one 10-year-old girl alleges that she was kidnapped by a man she met through Roblox and Discord. The parents of another 11-year-old claim that a predator used Robux, Roblox’s in-game currency, to coerce their child to send explicit photos.

    • Physical harm resulting from the sexual abuse that is documented in medical records
    • Attempted suicide or death by suicide as a result of the sexual abuse
    • Psychiatric or psychological treatment sought as a result of the sexual abuse
