James Scott Farrin Banner Sponsor of Durham’s Running of the Bulls 8K

For the 4th time, the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin will sponsor the Running of the Bulls in downtown Durham, on Saturday, June 4th at the Durham Athletic Park.

For the 4th time, the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin will sponsor the Running of the Bulls 8K community road race and USA Track & Field 8K Championship. This year’s 8th annual race will take place in downtown Durham on Saturday, June 4th at 7:15 a.m. at the Durham Athletic Park.

Every year the Running of the Bulls event benefits a local non-profit, and this year’s beneficiary is Triangle Residential Options for Substance Abusers (TROSA). To date the event has netted more than $10,000 for DurhamCares, Habitat for Humanity, and TROSA.

Race directors Jason and Kim Page, who own and operate Bull City Running Co., started the event eight years ago. Kim said, “We are so grateful for the continued support of the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin. The Running of the Bulls 8K is truly a community event that brings together all ages and paces, and showcases some of the most iconic and revitalized gems of our city.”

The couple’s love of running and fondness for downtown Durham’s historic architecture, history, and all the evolving city offers, prompted them to initiate this event so others might come together and appreciate it too. The picturesque 8-kilometer (4.97-mile) route will wind through the historic and revitalized neighborhoods of downtown Durham, American Tobacco Campus, Trinity Park, and Old North Durham neighborhoods, and finish with a lap of the warning track inside the historic Old Durham Athletic Park.

James Scott Farrin Attorney Cristen Bartus, who helps organize the firm’s volunteer efforts said, “Running of the Bulls is a great opportunity for our firm to show support for TROSA, and participate in a worthwhile community event. This particular event has been one that many of our employees have had so much fun participating in over the years, and we’re again expecting another healthy turnout this year.”

In addition to being the 2016 “banner” sponsor, a number of James Scott Farrin employees will man water station #2, hand out water, cheer on and take photos of runners, which are later posted to the firm’s Facebook page. As in years past, other Farrin employees will be joining the nearly 2,000 other participants and run the race themselves.
