March 3rd, 2022: James Scott Farrin filed a class action lawsuit against the Winston Weaver Company on Thursday, February 24th to seek damages for those affected by the plant’s huge fire and emergency evacuation. The lawsuit points to previous fires at the fertilizer plant, as well as to Winston Weaver’s failure to properly store hazardous materials, correctly repair and maintain its facility, and submit legally-required forms regarding the amount and types of chemicals onsite, as evidence of its negligence and intentional disregard for safety. If the lawsuit is certified as a class action, it could be used to represent anyone who had to evacuate or missed work because of the fire. Read More.
