Four James Scott Farrin Attorneys Inducted Into 2020 North Carolina Pro Bono Honor Society
July 15th, 2021: Four attorneys from the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin were among those recently inducted into the 2020 North Carolina Pro Bono Honor Society. The attorneys – Leila Hicks, Gary Jackson, Kevin Mahoney, and Anabel Rosa – were recognized for their “substantial and valuable” contributions to the state. Ronnie Long Civil Case Moves Forward
May 12th, 2021: "Whether it's 1976 or 2021, the injustice that Ronnie Long experienced should never happen in our criminal justice system.” That begins the statement recently issued by Long’s attorneys, including James Scott Farrin’s Coleman Cowan and Hoyt Tessener. Long was wrongly imprisoned for over 44 years before finally being granted a pardon of innocence in 2020. The civil case was filed on May 3, 2021 in Raleigh federal court. James S. Farrin Receives 2021 ‘Diversity & Inclusion Award’
May 6th, 2021: James S. Farrin received a 2021 ‘Diversity & Inclusion Award’ from “North Carolina Lawyers Weekly” and “South Carolina Lawyers Weekly.” This is the third year that the publications have presented the award to attorneys who advance diversity, inclusion, and the dignity of people in the legal profession across the Carolinas and in communities. Firm attorney and Shareholder Anabel Rosa was among the award’s initial recipients in 2019. In the virtual award ceremony, Jim emphasized the need for all individuals to be aware of their own intrinsic biases and urged the legal community to address systemic racism and discrimination. James Scott Farrin Partner Coleman Cowan Represents Victims of Abusive NC Christian School Employee
May 5th, 2021: A North Carolina Christian school employee was arrested for the second time after new sexual abuse charges emerged. Tammy Tyner Moran was charged with three felony charges of sexual activity in March and sexual activity with a student and embezzlement in April. The school was allegedly warned of their employee’s abuse by the first victim’s family a year ago but did not take action. Read more.
